First day of school...

First Grade was a big step for me. This means my boy goes to school ALL.DAY instead of half day Kindergarten. I am going to miss having Jacob home with me. Not to mention that now I have done this before I know I can blink my eyes and he will be in fourth grade like Lindsey. That just breaks my heart! I am not ready for life to move so fast.

Jacob was happy and excited for this step. No fear. When he got home I was very interested in who he ate with, who he played with etc... but he had nothing to share. It's strangely hard not being a part of this part of his life. I asked him if he wanted hot or cold lunch the next day. He told me "no lunch". I reminded him that it was a long day and too long to go without lunch. He told me, "Don't worry Mom they have tons of lunches there for people". I laughed. Sweetie there is no such thing as a free lunch.

Jacob may your easy going and happy nature win you friends and serve you well as you go out into the big world of first grade. I have shed of few tears letting you go, but you are SO ready!

Love,
Mommy

What a handsome boy! I love how he thought the school cafeteria was somehow just like home...except you get to pick from a variety of meals!!

He looks older in these pictures! When did he grow up?!? Hope he is loving 1st grade.
I hear you about them being gone all day. Brinley will be in 1st as well. She's my little helper and I'm going to miss having her around to talk to and do stuff with. Why do they have to rush off and grow up so fast?

Cute pics and I love his backpack!

Oh he is so cute! What a big boy. It was so long ago that my first took the big step into first grade. I can't imagine what it will be like when Sammy isn't with me all the time.

I suppose we all have to learn that there's no free lunch some time:)

Ack! Thursday is Hope's first day of 1st grade...I'm looking forward to having some time off but I really think I'm going to miss the heck out of her.

I can't believe how grown up your little man looks in that picture!

IT is sad how fast they grow up, but so exciting all at the same time. I hope Jacob is loving school.
