Calgon take me away...

Oh wait I can't take a bath,my bath tub is literally filled with dissolved soggy toilet paper!

Who knew toilet paper could cause such a nightmare? The girls were bathing I was in the room talking on the phone. Watching for someone to go underwater too long, or stand up and fall, those normal kinds of bath time risks. What I did not see was one of the twins slip a brand new full roll of toilet paper in the bath. That is, until I go to wash their hair and it is covered in white chunks. At first I thought it was conditioner (chunky) because its not within my experience to imagine toilet paper ever looking like that. I touched it was tangled and impossible to get a hold of, and it was toilet paper. Dissolved toilet paper. I thought I was mad but I still had no idea how terrible it was. I tried rinsing it out with the shower sprayer. I tried washing it out (like 10 ten times). I tried conditioner. None removed it. Their hair and scalp were coated. After several attempts and brushes I removed them from the bath and began using a fine tooth comb. Still toilet paper was found every time through. Looking more and more like lice. An hour later they are in bed... in BIG trouble. I go to check out the bath.
5 barbies with hair also coated in the toilet paper (which can give you a small idea of what I was dealing with). I was too involved to take pictures of the girls hair. The tub is white clouds of the stuff. The drain is whole other project I have been cleaning out. What a disaster.

Don't look to closely at the girls and if you do rest assured their hair is VERY clean and they absolutely don't have lice.

Oh my what will they think of next?

Why we need a bunk bed and poop stories...

The twins can't go to sleep together. It's like an all night slumber party that never ends. So about a year go we began the bedtime swapping and its been a routine ever since. It works like this, one of the twins (they take turns) goes to sleep in Jacob's bottom bunk when they are both asleep I move them back together so they can wake together and so I can see when they get up (they walk past my room to get downstairs). A few times we have forgotten to switch them and having them sneak downstairs is not pleasant. Anyway, last night when I arrived home from Volunteering at the hospital I went to check on the girls they had been put back together and were sleeping in each others beds. After I fell asleep I heard crying. Sydney had crawled in bed with Hailey and Hailey wasn't happy. So I put Hailey back in her bed or tried to because when I did she squealed because it was wet. So Sydney wet Hailey's bed and then crawled in bed with Hailey (wet under wear and all). Needless to say Hailey was less than thrilled.

Later in the morning I had this conversation with Sydney:
Me- Why are you wearing different p.j's?
Sydney-Because of the poop?

Great. Two wet beds and poop somewhere. My life is glamorous.

Ditching preschool...

The other day I dropped the girls off at preschool and came home to grab something before heading to the hospital for some work. I was upstairs and knew I missed a phone call. I was concerned when I saw it was "teacher Kathy". So on my way out I called her back.

She said she thought she heard me drop the twins off, and heard their voices. But after a while they still had not come downstairs so she went to check. They were not there. So she started to think that I had come and left because they had forgotten something but something told her to check more thoroughly. So after going around to her back yard she found my sneaky duo playing with her dog!

Mind you I dropped them off. They went inside and the door closed. I then drove off. If you are telling yourself this was an innocent adventure. It wasn't. When I saw the girls I asked them why they went to see the Dog and left preschool. They immediately seemed shocked and said, "Mommy we saw you leave and then we went to see the Dog, you never see'ed us". Hmmm...

Come to think of it I did hear a lot of chatter in the backseat about the dog on the way to preschool. I guess it was all being planned right under my nose.

Needless to say all preschool drop offs will be done differently.

Rude Awakening...

Every morning...

It always starts with desperate pleas.
"Feed me".
"I am sooooo hungry".
"My tummy is hurting".
"I am starving".
Whine, whine, cry, cry, scream, scream. So I get the breakfast made and she takes one bite. Done. "Mommy I want waffles instead" or my personal fav, "Mommy I am too full" because one bite of anything might do that to you.

Seriously annoying.

All we need is one bathroom...

Last week I stayed up almost every night till 2am. Alan was gone and I guess I just got doing stuff. It was the only alone time I was getting so I guess I felt I would make it last. One night I went to bed I accidentally let my door swing almost shut. This is a very bad thing. My twins room is next to mine and incidentally they have to pass my room to get to the rest of the house. Every morning I watch to catch them, but this morning since my door was slightly shut and I was so tired they slipped right on by. I am later awakened by screaming. I get up and find that the twins had destroyed Lindsey's clean room and dumped an entire bottle of Swim Ear all over it and ruined her new Hannah Montana doll. After cleaning up that disaster I came down stairs and began making breakfast. Hailey announced she needed to go the bathroom. She always tells me she has to go and I say, "just go". She headed out of the room. Next thing I know she is back in the kitchen covered in poop. She says she pooped on my stairs. I go to survey the damage. IT.IS.NOT.GOOD. Apparently she went upstairs to use the bathroom in the middle of doing her poop she decided that she would prefer the downstairs bathroom (seriously). So... she gets up mid poop and strolls down stairs. Problem is NO ONE can do that. So she proceeded to poop on the stairs, step in it and track it down the halls. So nice. So Thursday at 10am I was not in a good mood.

Later I noticed Lindsey posted this on her blog.

Made with love and lots and lots of glue... ( Rachel she must see your blog open from time to time)

I have had so much craziness is my life!!!My room is such a mess with my twins, jacob loves to BMX only when I am there,my Dad is on a work trip, and my Mom is stressed out!!!She need LOTS of help and I am trying to help! My family is so crazy when it comes to perfection , but I love all of them!(even if Sydney uses markers to draw on the walls.)it is a happy life!

It really had me laughing. Oh and to set the record straight she considers me a perfectionist because I require her to have her hair done every day, clean clothing, and rooms clean. I know totally nuts. Oh and she was totally right.... I had a very stressful day.

Part 2 of my poop week will follow later this week. What one twin does the other will follow- just in a different worse way.

NOT in my job description...

At least I wish it wasn't.

This morning when we are rushing to get ready for church several disasters. Alan is always at meetings Sunday mornings.

Sydney goes to the bathroom and then proceeds to step in her poop (don't ask me how this occurred). She then walks down the hall and leaves poop chunks all over my clean carpet! Total nightmare to clean up!

Then after I get that cleaned up, all 3 girls ready (hair, clothing) for church. Hailey runs to the bathroom and decides she would rather use the other bathroom. Totally bad choice. She peed he pants, her tights, her shoes right before church.

Lovely way to start a church day. Did I mention I also taught Lindsey's roudy class at church and did the long meeting alone because Jacob is home sick with a cold with Alan.

Lindsey told me "Mom after lunch maybe you should just take a break".

Trouble maker at work...

I used to think Sydney and Hailey had very few differences but lately I am noticing a alarming difference. Sydney has been in all sorts of trouble and Hailey is not the one doing it.

Here are the "best of" her naughty episodes...
The other day Hailey slipped and fell in the bubble bath that Sydney dumped this was previously mentioned. The entire bottle of bubble bath took three days to clean off the floor. It just kept foaming and foaming. When a cap full can fill the entire tub with suds you can imagine what the whole bottle does with the floor!
Then is was the conditioner in the shower and all over her clothing.
Then it was Hailey slipping on the unusually slippery wood floors. Later we find Sydney has sprayed Pam all over the floors.
Then there was tide power carried in a trail and filled up in the toilet.
Lotion and more lotion on several different occasions.
Shampoo contained to the bathtub.

Sydney has an expression, a gleam in her eyes she makes when mischief is being had. These expressions are all her own.
The other day she asked me to please look at the baby on the t.v. "I do not want you to watch me, do not look at what I am doing".

She is so obvious in her naughty attempts and often requests me to not go where she going or to not watch what she does.

Yesterday Alan was holding her (she sucks her fingers) and she told him she could not suck her fingers they were yucky. He smelled cleaner on her hands and began questioning her. Her simple response was "I do want to to talk".

It's amazing when she find the moments to do this. She seems to know exactly when I am busy or not paying attention. I really do keep things out of her reach but each day I am finding a new thing that has to become a controlled substance. All real cleaning supplies are out in the garage up high and medicines are as well. She still finds shampoo, lotion, 409, and laundry soap. What should I remove next?

Bedtime update #3

Bath, bedtime 8pm. Laughing playing ensue, warning given, separation takes place, 20 minutes of hysterical screaming takes place. Hailey screaming "My Sydney My Sydney" and Sydney screaming "My big girl bed my big girl bed" I sit enduring it all and then see Hailey come running from her room to meet Sydney in the hall and they embrace and hug (tear stained and snotty) and then they beg and beg to be together. So... I relent because I am so sucked into their desire to be together. Oh and tired of the hysterical screaming too. It's quiet for now its 9:08. They really hate being separated hopefully that real threat will motivate better behavior. I just miss putting them to bed going off to the gym, running an errand, resting.

I will update about the movie later, when I can load a picture. Good times...

Update... its 9:35 and they are both sound asleep (curlers and all).

The end of the world as we know it...

Big girl beds...

There is a lot of jumping going on

There is a lot of giggling

Even some pretend sleeping

Just a tip, covering your eyes gave you away girl!

Some hiding

Some seeking
and very little real sleep is being had. Finally asleep (almost midnight).
All of these photos were taken hours after bedtime! They are getting better about not getting out of bed but that has not cut down on the giggling. Tonight (past 10pm) they were giggling so loud I went upstairs to investigate. Both girls in bed just laughing. Hailey told me simply, "we just can't stop laughing" and they did not for atleast another hour. Over nothing! WHOA is me. It's so interesting to me that even though they could get out of bed for months (and did from time to time) this new room has been so exciting.
