Day 4 Puerto Vallarta

My Mom began getting sick the day before we stopped here and was unable to get out of bed or the boat for this stop.

As your getting off the boat they are taking all sorts of photo’s to remember it.  The parrot photo’s of each kid were soo great but at $20 a photo I wasn’t about to spend $80! This will have to do…

This was the perfect day. The resort was very nice! Lindsey spent almost the entire day in the ocean.  She also resisted being reapplied with sunscreen for too long and ended up with a terrible sunburn.

Cruise Day 2 and 3 (at sea)

The first two days were all at sea.  I love sea days. After finishing our basement, then Christmas, then packing for a big trip I was ready for some rest!

The kids woke up early and were the first people in the hot tub.

Breakfast buffet.  One of my favorite meals of the day. As a Mother its priceless to be able to fed the kids all day anytime of the day and not prepare the food!  Plus they can have almost anything they could ever want!

Ready for a day in the sun.

The salt water pool caused some trouble for the girls. They hated it stinging their eyes. Note to self.. Goggles next time! Princess Sydney called me to towel her eyes so she could deal with the stinging.

Hailey sounds asleep in the warm sun!

Me and my sisters.  The most important part of the cruise is walking every night.  We met every night possible and walked around the boat.  Just to avoid major weight gain.  Usually several miles.  Next first day on land … Puerto Vallarta!

Family Cruise Jan 2011- Day 1

9 Day cruise to Mexico

Waiting to get on the boat. Our cruise left from San Diego, California. The weather in Utah had been in the single digits for weeks.  Arriving in San Diego and 70 degree temperatures felt amazing!

A very bad, really horrible kind of day…

Snowy cold day in January 2011.
Get a call from Alan while working for my Mom. A good friend suddenly died. A truly great man, doctor, friend and person.  Too young and totally sudden.
Shed tears over the phone but was more concerned for Alan who grew up with Matt.
Hour passes.
Another call from Alan.  He wrecked his car.
car crash
Perspective comes quicker than normal. Alan was okay. A car can be fixed. But thank goodness amazing car insurance and an agent who made it much easier than normal!

Lazy Eye update–January 2011

081082
Girls at the eye doctor. Progress stalled. It’s surprising glasses made so much improvement for three months but the treatment is that they keep doing what they are doing until progress stops then you change.  So the news was we started patching.  2 hrs a day.

A stuffed animal to soften the blow.  The girls charm most people.

First week was very tough. Lot’s of tears from all three of us.  The girls kept crashing into corners as they were walking (couldn’t see).   First few days I had to hold them and snuggle the entire two hours, watch movies play dsi’s.  I figured we would never be able to do this but as with the glasses I was strict and had lots of love and sympathy but no other options.  They had to do it.  After the first week things greatly improved.  They patch very well.  They DO complain and they NEVER want anyone to see them (outside the family) with them on but we get it done.  Hope it does its thing as if it doesn’t we increase the time they wear them.  This is a very hard process but if it fixes the issues its well worth it.
