Snowy cold day in January 2011.
Get a call from Alan while working for my Mom. A good friend suddenly died. A truly great man, doctor, friend and person. Too young and totally sudden.
Shed tears over the phone but was more concerned for Alan who grew up with Matt.
Hour passes.
Another call from Alan. He wrecked his car.
Perspective comes quicker than normal. Alan was okay. A car can be fixed. But thank goodness amazing car insurance and an agent who made it much easier than normal!

I had to wear an eye patch growing up. Probably a little younger than your girls are, or maybe about the same age. I've had 3 surgeries regarding my lazy eye. My most recent one was in May of 2007.
