Photo Story Friday -My breakfast date...

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Yesterday Jacob said he wasn't feeling well so he stayed home from school. We have had a lovely stomach bug going around so I took him seriously. Since Jacob wasn't acting too sick I had an appointment to get my badge at the hospital I decided he would tag along. Sometimes you have a moment without planning it and this day was one of those times. We headed up to the hospital to get my badge. Jacob was thrilled to see the hospital (its a new big one in my area). He loved seeing where I volunteer and hearing about it what I do. I volunteer in Parent Support at the NICU. In fact we have a Mom I am visiting now who is expecting Monoamniotic twin girls, like mine. It is so fulfilling and healing to be able to help people who are going through difficult times. After we got my badge fixed Jacob and I ate breakfast in the cafe that overlooks the mountains. As I was sitting there I was overwhelmed with how special it was to have one on one time with him. To talk freely to him and hear all his thoughts. He is such a openly loving child. It was really a treat to be with him. Oh and don't worry we did not visit any babies or sick people, wink.

The day turned sour for him when we got home and he found out staying home sick meant he could not play with friends. He told me it was the worst day ever except the part where he got to have breakfast with me with all the doctors. Oh well staying home from school can't be all fun. This year loosing him to first grade has tugged at my heart strings so much. I will have to create more dates like this.

Jacob wanted to try taking a picture. This is outside the Women's center. I like the perspective of him looking up to me. His point of view is different and it captures that.
Jacob enjoying his breakfast.
The view of my face is quite silly, but it was a good memory of us together.

I believe in miracles...

Dear Sydney and Hailey,
I believe in miracles because I begged God to allow you to live and come to our family safely and you did. It didn't seem possible or even likely.

As I watched you be born and heard your first weak cries. I knew I was experiencing a miracle, we all knew it. I watched the nurses and doctors attend to you carefully. I worried as a ventilator was needed to help you breath.
All I wanted was you to be born alive- to have you safe, yet my arms ached as stayed at the hospital small and weak for 29 days.

We celebrated as you came home pink and healthy to our home.
You have given me a gift. I will never be the same. I will never take any life for granted. Life is fragile. I love you so very much!
Happy Birthday my sweet little girls!

Memory game...

You know you want to (all you lurkers (family friends) come on out and play.

Memory Game:
1. Add a comment to my blog by leaving a memory that you and I experienced together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little, or A LOT. All you have to do, is simply, remember. If you are a blog reader you can post a memory of a post etc...

2. When you've done that, post this to your blog, experience the memories from your lifetime, and I'll return the favor.
