Last week I stayed up almost every night till 2am. Alan was gone and I guess I just got doing stuff. It was the only alone time I was getting so I guess I felt I would make it last. One night I went to bed I accidentally let my door swing almost shut. This is a very bad thing. My twins room is next to mine and incidentally they have to pass my room to get to the rest of the house. Every morning I watch to catch them, but this morning since my door was slightly shut and I was so tired they slipped right on by. I am later awakened by screaming. I get up and find that the twins had destroyed Lindsey's clean room and dumped an entire bottle of Swim Ear all over it and ruined her new Hannah Montana doll. After cleaning up that disaster I came down stairs and began making breakfast. Hailey announced she needed to go the bathroom. She always tells me she has to go and I say, "just go". She headed out of the room. Next thing I know she is back in the kitchen covered in poop. She says she pooped on my stairs. I go to survey the damage. IT.IS.NOT.GOOD. Apparently she went upstairs to use the bathroom in the middle of doing her poop she decided that she would prefer the downstairs bathroom (seriously). So... she gets up mid poop and strolls down stairs. Problem is NO ONE can do that. So she proceeded to poop on the stairs, step in it and track it down the halls. So nice. So Thursday at 10am I was not in a good mood.
Later I noticed Lindsey posted this on her blog.
Made with love and lots and lots of glue... ( Rachel she must see your blog open from time to time)
I have had so much craziness is my life!!!My room is such a mess with my twins, jacob loves to BMX only when I am there,my Dad is on a work trip, and my Mom is stressed out!!!She need LOTS of help and I am trying to help! My family is so crazy when it comes to perfection , but I love all of them!(even if Sydney uses markers to draw on the walls.)it is a happy life!
It really had me laughing. Oh and to set the record straight she considers me a perfectionist because I require her to have her hair done every day, clean clothing, and rooms clean. I know totally nuts. Oh and she was totally right.... I had a very stressful day.
Part 2 of my poop week will follow later this week. What one twin does the other will follow- just in a different worse way.

I can laugh because it's not me! :o) I am sure I would be a bit stressed myself. My hubby is gone for weeks at a time with work, and I find myself staying up late just to have time to myself and get things done.
Thank goodness for blogs...if only for the purpose of allowing us to see the HUMOR in such awful situations. Do I dare say I am looking forward to hearing the second poop story?
Oh my!! What a morning!
I was kind of hoping once they were potty trained the poop parties would end! And there's more?! You poor thing! Hopefully there's a girls night out in your near future!:)
Oh man. I am laughing only because I have had poop down 2 flights of stairs b4. Emma on the 2nd floor, me in the basement. She was 2 and took her diaper off and scooted down the stairs ON HER BUM with poop on it. UGH! At least your carpet is clean now. ;-)
Oh My Goodness! Sending LOTS of warm thoughts your way. I hope you week gets better.
Laura~
Are you sure that was not Gabrielle in your home pooping on the steps? That is a post I could have written word for word.
I am so sorry and only hopes it gets better. It is stressful!! I know all about a traveling husband as well.
Oh my gosh. Oh my poor Laura. I don't even want to think about how dreadful that clean up must have been.
Lindsey is awesome. Awesome.
So sorry about your crappy day. And sorry for that awful pun...
Hope things got better fast. Although if you have a poop day part II that can't be good...
I promise I am not laughing at you, just WITH you becasue I think we've all been there in one poop form or another! It sucks and it can definately put you in a bad mood-I know.
Hang in there!
P.S. I am looking forward to hearing another great story part deux! ;)
Oh my...I am just reliving all of those moments in my house...it does get better...we are finally getting past that...
Is it a twin thing? My goodness! Why do they have to be so messy!!!??
How cute is your Lindsey...what a sweet girl to try to help her stressed out mommy...
oh, no! That would put anyone in a bad mood! I love Lindsey's comment- what a sweetie.
Holy cow, I would have LOST it! The day would be done for me at that point. Pretty sure I would have put everyone to bed and called it a day at 10am.
Lindsey's blog post is too cute!
OH MY GOSH! horrifying! that would be just my luck too! i must be a perfectionist too! since those things aren't optional at my house either. oh i guess the room thing isn't a priority. i stop at hair done, and clean clothes and faces.
glad you survived! you need a girls night out PRONTO!
Awww. Hang in there! Check out my WW.

LOL really one of those BAD BAD things in the moment but so funny later:)
What is swim ear?
I'm so sorry! Looking forward to hearing the next part of the story!
Oh, wow. Hang in there!
I'm lost? Who posted what where?
As for the poop stories. Isn't this why we blog?
Do you think that kids know when you are the most stressed and alone so they decide to try new things? I hope it wasn't too bad.
I had to read your post to my husband. We were btoh cracking up and releived that this was not how our day turned out. Ugh....I would not be thrilled at all!
♥ Oh man! That is one things that I can't handle. I hope he gets back very soon!!!
I think I would have died! Life is never easy when the schedule is changed up! Good luck!
How do you begin to clean a mess like that? I'm guilty of just throwing panties away that dear V decides to poop in. I'd FREAK if it was my carpet!
And how do you stay up so late, then get everyone's hair done the next day, and not be crabby? If I'm up until 12 it seems the kids are in pjs the next day, and their hair never sees a brush! I need your energy :)
I really got a good laugh out of the poop story. Remember this one for the future husband ;)
Okay....Lindsey is so cool to write so thoughfully. And I am sooooo sorry about the poop story. It's left me speechless. When does Alan get home?????
I don't think I would have handled the poop situation very well. AT ALL.
