Bedtime update #3

Bath, bedtime 8pm. Laughing playing ensue, warning given, separation takes place, 20 minutes of hysterical screaming takes place. Hailey screaming "My Sydney My Sydney" and Sydney screaming "My big girl bed my big girl bed" I sit enduring it all and then see Hailey come running from her room to meet Sydney in the hall and they embrace and hug (tear stained and snotty) and then they beg and beg to be together. So... I relent because I am so sucked into their desire to be together. Oh and tired of the hysterical screaming too. It's quiet for now its 9:08. They really hate being separated hopefully that real threat will motivate better behavior. I just miss putting them to bed going off to the gym, running an errand, resting.

I will update about the movie later, when I can load a picture. Good times...

Update... its 9:35 and they are both sound asleep (curlers and all).

I jumped on your blog after you left a comment on Becky Higgin's blog. I loved the entry below about the Hannah Montana movie quandry. How funny. My daughter also loves Hannah Montana. Of course, I didn't realize this movie would be so difficult to get tickets to.

Oh I am so glad they are asleep. It broke my heart to read that they were sobbing for each other. Who ever thinks that parenting is easy is really mistaken! Good work Mama!

Okay...9:35 is earlier than 10:00 the night before. Slowly getting there. I hear you about the hysterical crying. I can't stand it when they get so worked up. The meeting in the hallway must have been a sight to see! Sweet dremas to you.

I have a friend with triplets, a singleton, then twins--all within five years distance. I think about things like bed time and bath time and gasp.

Sounds like you might be getting somewhere, let's hope tonight they don't have to go thru the separation part.

Well ... you can always continue to use the separation threat to try to calm them to sleep. It just takes figuring out what their currency is - right? Glad they settled down - hope you are having a good weekend - see ya. Kellan

My favorite part of that story is that they were wearing curlers. LOVE that.

How tender! I love that Hailey was asking for HER Sydney! How did you keep yourself from not embracing with them?

(Glad they were alseep pretty early! You may have found their currancy, mom! Keep it up and you may get some restful nights afterall.)

Bedtime fun! Mine are getting better... but I have to endure the crabbiness of no naps to get the earlier bed times with less up and down time. Good luck, hope it has been going well.
