Happy Valentine's...

Yesterday was a tough day. Everything that could go wrong, DID! I woke up to the entire kitchen with smashed crackers, a entire box. School was delayed (2hrs) because we got MORE snow.

HaileySydney
This face dumped an entire jumbo size bottle of Bedtime bath (bubble bath) all over the bathroom floor. Then she dumped conditioner all over the shower and herself. Hailey wet her pants (right as we were heading out the door). I helped run Lindsey class party and Lindsey's teacher was not grateful and pretty mad the twins came along (rude even). When the room mother asked me to help I said no because of the twins and their nap time etc...The room mother begged and said the twins were welcome. Apparently they were not welcome. Wish I had known that before I went up there and skipped a much needed nap and my chance to clean up all the disasters. It was awful how was made to feel by her teacher. She never got up from grading papers to help with the party either. I am not a big fan of Lindsey's teacher but thats a whole other post.

When we got home we made cookies and things settled down a bit.

It ended on a good note because I got to go out to dinner and movie with my hubby. It's tradition that all the girls receive flowers from Alan. I get a dozen, and each girl gets one. The twins loves their flowers and smelled them over and over all night. It made them all feel special (Jacob got a treat too). Hope you had a nice day. I have some disasters to tend to today.

I can't believe how rude Lindsey's teacher was...first you help and give up naptime then you have to deal with attitude? Not cool.

I'm glad things all worked out in the end!!

I am so sorry the teacher was rude to you! I'll thank you for your help on behalf of her. (Having been a teacher myself...I WELCOMED ANY help I got in the classroom-siblings or no siblings!) If it's a problem again-send the girls my way! Lauren and Brooke would enjoy a little play date!

That's so sweet that Alan brings the girls a flower too. Great idea.

...And at least your bathroom floor will smell nice now!

First of all, the photos are great! I am so sorry that the start to your day was a disaster. I would have been irrate if Jack's teacher treated me that way! You were there to help after all. But I am glad that you got to go on date night!

Thanks to all of you for coming to my defense. I am still fuming over the teacher. My little twinados weren't even misbehaving and she was rude rude rude. When I said I was sorry they had to come she said, "Sometimes that has to happen even though it doesn't work out for us". Umm maybe she should get up from her desk and do my job so we can go home then. She is lucky I am nice. Not to mention I did it for Lindsey and she was unaware of all that was going on and I wanted to keep it that way.

That is sweet of Alan to think of all of his girls on Valentines. The pictures are really cute. Just think 3 1/2 months and 3rd grade is over, and now we know to request not to get that teacher in the future. I am glad that your day ended nice.

Wow! I would have been mad too... Emma's teacher is really strict and not very kid friendly luckily Emma really likes her. I guess the teacher always warns the kids, "Do you want Cranky teacher?" and then they know they better shape up.

Yesterday at their party she threatened to not have anymore if they couldn't behave! I could never be a teacher I'd go crazy so I kind of understand how she probably needs to be strict but she's never been rude!

I'd definately not be volunteering again if I could help it...

that is so uncool of that teacher! great excuse next time and forever after. i don't volunteer for that reason. i can't come alone. and i won't take my little kids.
glad you got to go out. and love the flower tradition. they looked adorable.

no fun on the messes. that is the worst.

Those sweet little girls made that much of a mess? They don't seem capable of such a thing! ;) Tell Lindsey's teacher she's a mean old hag. Ok, you're too nice to do that, so I'll do it for you. I'm not nice...what's her email address?

Those cookies look good.

Laura, there is only one way to handle this type of teacher- first a one on one with her. Then straight to the principal. I had to do it with my daughter's 4th grade teacher- it worked!

I am so glad your day ended on a good note for everyone!

I agree with Arizona that those twins look much too sweet to be the source of the mess. I hope for their sake they don't get the same teacher when they are Lindsey's age

Laura, I am laughing at everyone's comments about your girls being too sweet to make such a mess. I get that ALL the time about my boys. They look so sweet and innocent. HA! I WISH! LOL

What an awful teacher. I would have answered that comment with a see ya! I'd much rather have them at home napping! Our teachers do not have room mothers or have parents come in at all for parties. SO I never have to volunteer. They don't want me with the twins anyways!

I think it is fantastic that you went and helped out! And I am so sorry that teacher was a punk-rocker to you! That is just so wrong! So very wrong!
