I just wanted to publicly apologize to any and all people who were at my dentists office on Tuesday afternoon. Yes it was my son who screamed and cried and physically shook THE. ENTIRE. PROCEDURE (one whole hour), yes it was me who stood outside the door crying too, yes those were my twins who were totally out of control.
Sorry if your kids are terrified of the dentist now. If it makes you feel better I am terrified of ever going back too. The best part was forking over $200 to get out of that place.

I cry too if my kids are in pain or get hurt badly. I guess it is a mom thing.
I am sorry you had such bad time at the dentist. Was the dentist office nice about it?
Wow, Garrett just talked loud and we almost got kicked out of ours! ha ha. Poor Jacob. Poor you. Poor patients. :)
I think it is against everything maternal to stand by and let our kids suffer - even if its necessary. I am so sorry it was so traumatic all around. Poor guy - and poor mom!
♥ I'm not a fan of the dentist either! My kids all LOVE it. They think it's great, although they haven't had to have anything major done either just cleanings... We'll see how much they like it after a cavity...
huge bummer! my kids love to go and they ahve had huge amounts of work done. but honestly i hate it. and really they aren't good becuase they have all had to be sedated for their work. UGH! I'm sorry that is no fun for you or them!
I am so not looking forward to those days...so far lauren has only had two "happy visits." Are we insane for paying for torturous things like that for our children?
One of our pediatritions always said, with an annoying smile, if she ever saw any heartbreak in my eyes over their torture..."It's okay, this is GOOD for them."
So, don't worry, it was "good" for you son...dispute in later with his therapist when he is in counceling over it! ;)
Ugh, that's why I let the hubs take Hope to the dentist...I can't handle that kind of stuff without getting upset myself.
My kids hate going to the dentist too. Last time we went, the hygenist suggested that I get a DVD about the dentist so the girls can watch it and get used to the whole concept before we have to go again in July! I hope Jacob was okay afterwards and I'm sure he and the twins weren't the first kids to lose control. You probably weren't the first mom to cry either:(
Poor poor you! Elijah's last trip to the dentist - he wore his superman costume. He asked me the other day if he could wear a costume again the next time, and I told him sure! (Anything that keeps him calm.)
Hey, I tagged you on my blog tonight! :)
Poor little guy!!! I cannot believe they did not sedate him in some way! My heart just breaks when I hear about that. I am a BIG fan of laughing gas for the kids. Olivia had to have a tooth pulled and she was SO calm!
The dentist makes me cry too. I feel so bad for him! And you!
The dentist makes me cry as well. I am SO sorry you had such a traumatic experience at the dentist. I am NOT looking forward to my girls first trip to the dentist...which is why I have put it off for as long as I have...I know, I know bad mommy.
I hope Jake and you are feeling better. Josh screams and crys while he is getting a hair cut, so I worry about his first trip to the dentist.
Oh man, that was WITH sedation. Poor little guy. That makes me so sad :-(

Oh, that's terrible! I'd cry, too! I wonder how the dentist felt? It must be hard to work on a kid's teeth when he's screaming! SOunds like a tough afternoon!!
OY! It stinks to have to fork over a chunk of change to watch your kids be hurt and sad.
We scared a whole waiting room of kids when Gracie had to get her kindergarten shots. I got a lot of eye darts from parents that day...
LOL I can just picture the scene. I am glad y'all made it out alive.
I am so sorry Laura! Once when Meghan was five she was having her teeth cleaned- the dentist took her to the back and poked her gums, his mistake. She screamed, he covered her mouth and told her "don't you ever scream in my office" She came out and I knew something was wrong but did not tell me until we were home. I was livid- called the BBB right away and filed my report.
I am so sorry you had to go through that! At least it's done!
Oh, who doesn't hate the dentist - I've been known to squeal a bit myself - make a scene. Poor baby and pooooor mom. Hope you have a good weekend - take care. Kellan
oh no! i'm so sorry your little guy had to go through that...and you too!
