When I grow up...

The other day I was dropping of the girls and their cousin to ballet. Cali (my niece) got out of her booster seat and unbuckled the girls from their car seats... Side note my girls have mastered buckling but not unbuckling. She unbuckled the girls and they told her "Wow are you all growed up"? To which she happily said, "yes". Hailey isn't fooled easily and wanted more info.. "so if you growed up, you can touch all the kitchen counters and drink diet coke"? To which Cali said, "No I can't touch the counters but my Daddy lets me sneak diet coke when mommy's gone".

I love hearing what is coming from the minds of little kids.

We headed out today in the rain/snow and voted. Hope you do too.

This is too funny. I really love that being able to unbuckle a carseat makes you a grown up :) It's also funny to hear what daddy's let the kids do when mommy is not around.

I tell my girls things are only for mommy's & daddy's. That way they surely can't think they are old enough yet for things like touching counters and drinking coke LOL.

We would be such good friends if we lived close by Laura. I find myself relating to so much of your interests and life in general. And just think of how much fun our girls would have together. And how much trouble they could cause:)

Oh what cuteness abounds with little girls!! :) That is such a sweet story!

I voted. I am impressed that you went out in the rain and snow. It's 77 and sunny here. Not hard to go out in that!!

I must say that was a classic answer from my little girl. What's even funnier is they all LOVE diet coke. I guess they always want what they aren't supposed to have. Thank you for posting this. It is too funny.

I have a friend that secretly gave my 8 month old child diet coke..through a straw!!! I was a very young new mom and although appalled I did not say anything. I did watch with an eagle eye!! If you have not read Mandy of Discursively Happy you must. She posts alot about the funny things her kids say as well!! I love to read these posts!

So that's all it takes to be all grown up huh? Better add paying the bills to that list:)

Hearing that conversation is just priceless. And drinking Diet Coke is only for Mommy's in our house too. We have 7up once in awhile in the house, but they don't care for it. hah hah

LOL on the diet coke. I very rarely drink soda, but on those few occasions when I do drink a root beer in the presence of my grandchildren, I am treated to a lecture on how soda is "bad for your body."

Thanks, Heather. heehee
