It's been one of those days where I am noticing the annoying stuff way too much, do you have those too? Where for some reason you can find something bad about everything thats going on, you can make it all seem bleak? Hopefully tomorrow will be better... Here is my list of things that annoy me... some of them.
1-Short cars that make you think the parking space is open.
2-texting on your cell phone in movies or crying babies in movies.
3-being awakened from a deep sleep by a screaming child (even worse when you can smell something bad before you go in).
4-sick kids who's parents spread germs everywhere and don't keep them home!
5-Almost everyone else at the Gym (ha ha).
6-fans blowing on me in the winter.
7-sales calls during nap time (we covered this one before I know).
8-Self check out (need I say more).
9-whining, crying.
10-credit card machines that all have a different way to swipe and the buttons are never the same.
11-rude sales people
12-selfish people
13-construction zones and construction workers (sorry).
14-drive thru's who leave something out of your bag (lets face it all of them do it).
15-Lines at the post office.
16-people who do not say thank you or notice good.
17- barking dogs and owners who let them bark for hours on end (for the 5 yrs I have lived here).
18-Lost stuff.
19-talking on your cell phone loudly or while checking out, ordering at the drive thru, back out of a parking spot. This applies to talking loudly in public on your blue tooth (very weird).
20-My neighbors cars parked directly behind my driveway so its hard to get out ALL THE TIME and even worse it's dangerous to get out when it snows. The same neighbors who accuse you, rudely, of calling the police to have them ticketed and won't believe anything else. Suffer in silence for years never complaining and get that- now that annoys me the most!
I hope you can laugh with me or even at me. I am still a happy person, still see the good in the world... tomorrow will be a better day. So what annoys you?

Things that really annoy me...

I think you pretty well covered the annoying stuff... Although we do have a rental next door to us and we always get interesting people but this time we got a mother who rented the place for her two boys that are 17 and 14!!! Still in school and she does not live there. They are better than the drugies though. They have had friends over and were swearing horribly F word included and my kids could hear them IN THE HOUSE. So I had to go out and talk to them. They were very good about it after that but previously I had talked to their mom about them skidding out in our gravel and leaving large tire makes and sprayed gravel all over and since then they have tried really hard to take care of stuff themselves. When I was talking to the younger boy about the language he was very polite and said that he was very sorry and if there was any other problems that he would take care of them right away! I think he was afraid I'd talk to him mom again. Sorry for the book but I'm with you on annoying neighbors! :)
Let's see...doing all the thankless work of a wife and mom and get no credit and get told you do nothing!! Um, yeah. That's the top of my list.

Being a mother can very thankless job and sometimes I it looks like I got nothing done... yet somehow I never sat down all day! I'm with you on that one. It can be relentless.
Oh, you did a very comprehensive job........I get really annoyed by braggers. No matter the situation.
You have a great list there Laura! I REALLY like #4. That is at the TOP of my list. We took the boys to church ONCE since October and have had sickness in this house for 6 weeks now. Grrr.....

Angie, Have you seen that Everybody Loves Raymond episode about the Christmas Letter? I have not been able to write a Christmas Letter without thinking about that episode!
Amen and Amen. I would add to the list - dogs that poop in the house. Little boys that poop in diapers and then take off the diapers and bring them to me!
Plus, I REALLY second the being woken from a deep sleep by crying or "Mommy..." and stupid small cars that trick you at Wal-mart.
I love this post!! I wish I had read it earlier, I'm feeling exactly the same way today. Let's hope it's a beter day for both of us tomorrow!!

I actually posted this last night after a very trying weekend... today has been much better (for the most part).

I love your list and totally agree about the small car thing. I used to drive a Hyundai Elantra, so I was one of those small cars for years!!!
I was shaking my head in agreement with your list. I'd agree most with 12 - selfish people. A topic I'd love to blog about...could use some good blog therapy, but is probably best left unspoken!
i agree with a ton of these! and really have you noticed how the service part of shopping is really lacking lately? i keep getting rude cashiers because i hand them my card and they have to actually swipe it. sorry i did it for years, suddenly i am supposed to do it myself, but they still wanna see it? and i hate self check out too.
I hate foreign DR.s especially specialists, telling you important info and you can't understand them because of an accent!
and i think the funk is in the air, seems like everyone had a bad day recently.
I like your list and think annoying neighbors was near the top of my list for years...{we had a dog and the lady was insane calling the cops on us all the time because it was outside and it was cold! Hello it's a dog! I asked the woman if she didn't have something better to do than babysit my backyard and she told me no that she had nothing better to do! I hung up and went to church! We gave the dog away to a nice farm who lived out in the country on a cattle ranch. NO more pets for us!} right now to top my list would have to be whinny kids that don't listen to me!

The tiny car/tricking you into thinking you have a parking spot makes me laugh. I actually catch myself feeling embarrassed when I point my car in that direction and then notice that there is a car there. Like the car knows, is trying to trick me and giggling at my stupidity. What a dork I am!!!
Great post. Somedays those annoying things just jump out. I am not feeling too annoyed today but lets see if I can think of what annoys me... My latest greatest irritation is my own name. All I hear all day is Mommy, Mommy, Mommy. How can something you love so much - being a mommy - be so irritating sometimes?
