Thursday's Thirteen

Thirteen reasons why our summer has been anything but lazy.
1-Swim lessons and free swimming from 10am-1:30pm.

2-Water parks

3-Arts in the park. A program my bigger kids go two twice a week from 10-12pm. It's actually very nice.
4-Jet Skiing with twins? Enough said?

5-Church meetings and activities to plan and hold.
6-Four kids home ALL.THE.TIME.
7-Fitting in the gym, girls nights, and hospital volunteering.
8-Later bedtimes and early risers.
9-More places to go as a family (Park City)
10-Pool towels to wash, swimsuits to wash, two outfits per child almost everyday.
11-Green hair. Any tips? Baths needed every single night (not always given).
12-Summer Movies
13- House that needs cleaning (desperately) even though we never seem to be home.

I just need a day to just be home with deadlines gone.

i seriously believev it's the in and out days that make a house messy more than just being home. rush in drop suits and towels, rush out, rush in with groceries, rush out to the park, rush in to clean up for a meeting, rush off to girls night. my house is trashed FAST on weeks like that. more than normal.
hope you get a day off soon. i generally take the first week of school off just for me. to veg, read a book, blog. and catch up and breathe a little before the kids come home. AHHHHHH! hang in there.

crafts in the park sounds fabulous.

School will start soon and that will help immensely...at least that's what I keep telling myself!

My summer started out with something everyday. Now it has slowed down a little and that has been nice, but staying home means my house is always messy no matter how much I clean. I think we are just in that stage of life where you can't win.

This is making me very jealous! Green hair - Redken has (or had it's been a while since i had any use for it) a cleasing shampoo that was supposed to get the green out.

Got to love the dizzness that summer is...your kids will have the best memories so put the dirt on hold and keep enjoying those fun summer days! I love that you live so close to cousins and the girls look like they really have a great time together. I wish Carli had that.

You definitely sound busy! It sounds so fun, too, though.
My house desperately needs a cleaning, too! Unfortunately, they (the kiddos and all of their friends, of course) can mess it up a whole lot faster than I can clean it!!
As for the green hair, sounds like you need a good stripper shampoo (my favorite is Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree). And to avoid it in the future, you should buy a thick leave-in conditioner (again, Paul Mitchell has a good one) and put it in the girls hair before swimming and make sure they shower and wet their hair before and after swimming. Hope that helps!:)

Wow you super busy! I always think that summer is going to be carefree with less stress. NOT! I think we are almost more busy with all the extra stuff going on. It's craziness!!
Sorry I have no hair tips, you would think having a mother in law as a hair dresser I would know some sort of tid bit like this. But alas I know not. Sorry, I hope you get the green out soon.

Sounds like so much fun. I am so jealous when I see the mountains in your photos and the lake! What fun the jet skis must be. The kids will have great memories of summer when they get older!!

I don't know how you do it all. I really don't! I'm home all day nearly everyday, and still can't seem to get anything accomplished. You are amazing, and the kids will have such precious memories.

Now, that's busy! Sounds like a lot of fun, but I imagine you just fall into bed each night! lol! Do I dare say that I look forward to being busier with my kids? I might regret saying it!

Your crazy looks like lots of fun! I feel like we have been so busy too. I have 6 loads of laundry sitting in my room waiting to be folded...ugh.

oh I love summer. so much fun! i didn't read all the other comments so I don't know if you already got this tip, but growing up I had green hair all summer long. I bought a "chemical stripping" shampoo that I think was Paul Mitchell to get it out... any salon could direct you what would work. Darn that chlorine!

Holy Smokes, that is one busy summer. I should say that you need a day! Busy summers are so much fun though and they make for some fabulous memories and photos.

Hey I used to get green hair when I was young and I remember washing it with cider vinegar or tomato juice. I also had a special swimmer's shampoo but it didn't seem to do much. Good luck! We're planning on buzzing my son's hair next week after his final swim meet. Hopefully it will grow in nicely and not feel like straw! Ah, the joys of summer.
