Saw the Young Victoria. Which was an excellent movie. Like 4 stars! Unfortanetely my viewing experience was ruined by rude people. Grown adults. Talking outloud. Slurping drinks, crinkling candy. The entire time. At one one point the cell phone rang. No they did not rush to silence. They actually said Hello and began talking out loud! Miserable really. At the best part (the end) they talked even louder. It was truly unbelieveable.
If you go to the movies...
* Do not bring babies.
*Loud Cell phones not silenced.
* Text with your flashlight of a phone. Ever at all. Your phone is distracting.
*Talk loudly or talk at all.
*Make noise with various other noise making things, ie candy or straws. If it exists I have seen it done.
Please remember it is not your living room. You are not alone! Uncontrolled children are my biggest pet peeve. Primarily because I have left mine at home. It is usually past 10pm when I go to the movies. So why are any decent parents bringing their children at this time? To a non kid movie? Oh yes... to torture me. I have had babies cry through an entire movie (patron did not leave). I have experienced a child running through the entire movie with light up shoes! You read that right. LIGHT UP SHOES in a dark theatre.
Some of my favorite movies I have seen recently are:
The Blind side (saw it twice- took Alan)
Young Victoria
Avatar
I hated
Nine. It was terrible!
This week was catch up mode. We got the house scrubbed and not much else. Next week Ebay for the girls clothing. Wish me luck its a big job!

I am glad you are all feeling better.
I know what you mean about electronic devices in theatres. I hate it when someone starts texting during a movie. I know it is quiet, but the light is so annoying.
We took our kids to see a KIDS CARTOON movie once and there was a family in front of us who brought thier portable DVD player and turned it on for their youngest to watch the Wiggels during the movie. WHY? IT was very distracting, and annoying.
And taking kids to a late adult movie.....Don't get me started. What a world :)
♥ How irriating! That reminds me of How to Loose a guy in 10 days when she's being really loud during the movie!
I don't get the taking kids out past 8pm period??? I guess if you're desperate and have to run to the store that's one thing but a MOVIE! really? yeah don't get it at all????
Amen! If you can't be quiet in a movie, you should leave!!! Also, loved the movie "Young Victoria." My first time seeing it in a crowded holiday filled theater was much better than the second time in an almost empty theater with inconsiderate adults chatting up a storm and fidgeting with their empty candy wrappers. Come on! I wanted to walk over and be the mommy and take the candy away.
Getting the house scrubbed after everyone has had the flu is a big accomplishment! :)
And I second your thoughts on movie irritations! Especially the one about bringing kids to an adult movie! WHY!?! Irritating.
Good luck on the Ebay listings this week.
Ugggg! I am so annoyed by disrespectful movie goers. I had a girl stand up for a good length of time and ask her friends a bunch of questions before I finally had to ask her to sit down.
I loved The Blind Side and Avatar was so good.
Pass on When in Rome, not even a little worth your time LOL.
I will put Young Victoria on my to see list.
babies at the movies? I have NEVER experienced that.... except for the $1 movies in the summer, but the whole theatre is filled with kids and its at 10am. Seriously, moms really do that???
I was actually planning to do a post just like this. Well said! What a horrible experience the movies can be. Seriously people! There needs to be a sign that says you are not in your own living room. I missed lots of The Young Victoria because of those obnoxious people.
