A confession...
I am scared to share it.
I don't like crocs. I don't like crocs with fur. Crocs without fur. Crocs with socks. Crocs without socks. Crocks that are bright or crocs that are not.
I don't understand the love of crocs.
The other day I saw a crocs outlet store. What would possibly make that needed? I see croc keyosks at the mall. Would you believe they sell croc butter (to keep the plastic soft or something). Jewels for crocs. They even make generic crocs at places like Walmart and Payless.
I feel like I am a fairly normal person. I like most fads. I own more than my fair share of cute jeans. I love purses. Fun sunglasses. I just don't get this fad. They are expensive so its not like they are a budget thing.
I hear they are comfortable but so are flip flops and they are cute. I get why Nurses wear them cuz lets face it scrubs aren't so fashionable either. It's like work attire. But what is going on with everyone else?
So all you croc lovers out there. I know there are many. Tell me what is so great? Why all the fuss? Don't be shy. I know I am in the minority here on this.
Oh and I heard about a way to put you money to good use the other day... Donate crocs for kids in iraq.

LOL! I don't like crocs for adults, but for toddlers they're ok with me. Last summer Luke wore one blue one and one red one. This year he likes his Wall-E crocs and his bright yellow ones.
I am with you sister! I HATE CROCS! They are hidious no matter what size, color or jewelry you put on them. That is one style my family will never sport. I know people love them but I JUST DON"T GET IT PEOPLE!
We can no longer be friends because my younger kids DO wear crocs.....
Corbin hates flips flops and I love the fact that he can put the faux crocs on himself. Addison has a real pair that I got off ebay for 5.00. Heck I thought that was a good deal.
I don't wear them self but I don't mind them on the 2 younger kids...
Don't judge me.
:)Rachel
I agree with you. My 4 year old is the only one who wears them. I think they look ridiculous on adults. I couldn't wear them if I wanted to because of my mutant feet!
I don't understand it either. I LOVE shoes, all kids of shoes, and have more shoes than a reasonable person needs. No crocs though. They just do nothing for me.
I love crocs. Not just because they're comfortable, either. I like the funky way they look. They sort of remind me of Earth shoes from the 60's.
What can I tell ya?
I wear them ALL the time.=)
I own a pair of airwalk crocs...and I like them because I have a W I D E foot!!! They just fit without the fear of getting an ingrown toenail. I also LOVED my birkenstocks in high school, which have that same wide girth. I still have them in my closet....only 15 years old now, but more comfortable than ever!
♥ Yeah I'm not a huge fan. I think the little baby ones are pretty cute but the adult size are ugly. And I don't think they're comfortable at all but that's just me and I'm picky with comfort too so I'm not sure I'm a great judge! :)
I must say I am not really into them either. My boys love them though, so I buy them for them. Joe Braden says they feel better that tennis shoes!
I confess I have a purple pair of crocks. Right now they are one of my favorites just for the comfort factor on my swollen feet. They feel better than any other shoe, and I am all about being comfortable. I think if I had a black pair I would wear them all the time right now. I am not a fan of flip flops or heals. How do you chase down your kids in those?
My boys love crocks and the only other shoes they like to wear are thier snow boots. I like them for my boys because they are easy for them to put on and when they get dirty, they are super easy to wash.
I guess for me I am going more for comfort than style. I know they look funny, but my feet feel good :)
THANK YOU! I can't stand them either.
Some kids that I babysit wear them and I tell you, they have the smelliest little toes. ;)
Some moms have told me that they have their kids wear them because they protect from stubbed toes better than sandals... OK. I will by that. There are just so many cuter options out there.... I don't think we will ever own them.
And on adults... it just makes me cringe. (Nurses aside though. Rikki has a pair, but their shoe options are all hideous anyway.)
I like most fads too, but not all.
I will follow your lead and admit that we have never owned a pair of Crocs. I have never been able to understand the appeal either. They seem like they would be almost dangerous for little ones because they offer so little support and they don't seem to be strapped on very tightly. I know many people who love them for themselves and their kids but I couldn't figure it out either. Thanks for opening the closet and letting us all out. I feel so much better:).
OH i know! crocs were a fad i was totally resisting. i hate how they look.
BUT i got some flip flops. my feet were HURTING ALL DAY EVERY DAY.
nothing was working. birkenstocks(ugly too) hurt like the devil. and my feet ached all day long.
i got my crocs flip flops and if i wear them all day, on my tile floors my feet don't hurt. which was a miracle for me.
i don't mind the crocs mary janes. they are way better than the regular crocs. and my flip flops aren't the cutest out there, by any means, but with the right jeans , they are cute. especially with a fab pedicure.like my recent checkerboard one.
i'm converted. i still agree that they are uglier than sin, especially certain styles, but i love my crocs. and if my feet don't ache when i wake up in the morning it's worth it.
i'm kind of spoiled now, and hate to wear real shoes.
an evening in heels? OUCH. i can barely get through 3 hours of church in my fabulous heels.
if i have to walk alot, i want my crocs flip flips. and mine aren't even the cute ones, since i have GIANT feet after having kids, i get to wear the unisex manly ones.
my girls have the hot pink mary janes that i got for super cheap at Ross, and they are pretty cute. but only the mary janes. i'm still not a crocs fan for my kids.
also they don't start to stink. even being rubberish, like other cheap vinyl shoes. that right there could be reason for some people to convert.
ok and generic ones aren't comfortable like the real thing. and i can't be bothered to look ugly and be uncomfortable.
you get what you pay for.
I don't have any crocs. My kids wear them because they are easy, fast to put on, cheap (we buy generic) and cover their toes when they are riding scooters and bikes.
:)
Sorry Laura, I LOVE crocs! I wear them all day everyday. And mine have the fur. I even have the crocs that are flip flops. They are so comfortable. With that being said I will tell you that I only wear them with pants and I would never walk out of the house with them on when in shorts. They are sooooooooooo comfy!

Haha. You are SO funny laura. I personally would never be caught in a pair of crocs. However last summer when we were camping we lost a pair of the girls shoes and they were selling crocs at a kiosk near the beach shops. I bought the girls a pair and I have to admit they were so awesome. They could wear them in the water for protection and then easier rinse off and be put back on for dry wear. I am actually somewhat sad about not having another pair this summer so I might have to go buy another pair as they got so much use last summer. I am kinda embarrassed to write this LOL
hey Laura
i am Meghan from the momo site, i always check your blog lol but i have never posted anyway i LOVE crocs i know i know they are not that attractive but i have 2 pair of fuzzy ones and one pair of regular ones i don't know why i love them so much but they are so comfortable for me lol my 3 year old little boy also has 2 pairs and LOVES them i can't wait to buy my girls some matching pink ones! (however they are only 8 weeks old) what can i say i am a loser ha ha but i do love them. My husband is right there with you he calls them hockey masks for my feet!!!
Funny...I do like crocs for the girls during summer because I can hose them down-crocs and all.
amen! i think they are hideous! okay for kids but adults... not so much.
Yes, I hate them too! They are beyond hideous, even on children. Pajama's are really comfy too but you don't wear them out, do you?
I don't think anyone should wear them and now that it's been mentioned they probably aren't very hygienic.
I think the only people who could wear them without ridicule is nurses (with socks). They are on their feet all day and are providing a service for humanity, so they are excused.
As for anyone else you might as well be wearing your baggy pj's out and about. That's just how ugly they are.
I was a croc wearer - but now I've converted. They were great for pregnancy and hospital living. But now I wouldn't be caught dead in them. I don't mind the kids ones - I think they can look really cute and they are pretty practical.
