Apparently smiling isn't natural with braces on. You have to relearn how to smile. Well atleast how to do it without looking like a today dork (see above). And relearn how to eat, it's so hard to eat. I have to brush 4 times a day. Turning this expander is the worst. ACHE. This getting straight teeth business is a down right pain. Yes I get points for posting the picture of me looking like a complete dork.

Those mountains in the background - GORGEOUS!!!!!!!
Your teeth will only hurt for a couple of months - really hurt - or once you have your bands on your molars - are they on yet? And then - only when they are tightened once a month. It does get easier!! Go with the not eating! Think of it as the best diet ever!! (not saying anything there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
I can't speak to braces b/c I was lucky enough to never have them, but I can say that you will NEVER look like a dork! You're beautiful!
I hope that the pain goes away soon!! Oh my gosh where are you?? That photo is amazing! I miss mountains!!!
I was very lucky.. I guess growing up out of me and my siblings I had the worst baby teeth and they were all crooked. Turns out I did not need braces, but my brother and sister both did. I got lucky...
Really I wish you the best and hope that the pain goes away soon!!
Ugh...I hope it gets better. I think in the end, the pain will be worth it!
Oh man...we've got to talk. I'm about to jump into the braces thing myself. So scared as an adult. I admire you! And I see no dork there. Not even a bit.
Braces? Painful? Nah!!! [kidding...I know how painful they are.]
The ski country looks pretty in the photo behind y'all.
Come on over...today I'm taking y'all on a tour of the Texas State Aquarium via photos!!!! See ya later alligator...Oops, I let the 'cat out of the bag'...Yep, there are alligators. One photo anyway.
Happy Wednesday.
I think you look great, my sister had a really hard time adjusting for the first few months too.
Those mountains are beautiful!
I wish dorky pictures of me could look that good. I hope the pain gets better soon.
What a gorgeous picture, Laura. I think your smile is great. I'm glad I never had braces, because I've heard how much they hurt. I remember my sister when she got her braces off. She'd still lift her upper lift off her teeth to compensate for the braces that used to be in the way. :)
Awe. I don't think you look bad at all. You always have a great smile. But I am sorry that you are in so much pain.
That is a pretty awesome picture :)
I want straight teeth too! I was thinking about invisalign but all the choices are so expensive and our insurance doesn't cover orthodontics over 18! One day?!?!? Beautiful view behind you!
Great picture anyway! Hope they get less sore soon
i meant to stop by earlier to say you aren't lurking... you're family. totally different :) and braces are painful, but i guess now you'll get all your kids braces early so they can suffer as teenagers and not as an adult. (atleast it was "the norm" when i was in middle schoo.)
and i'm so glad you tried Five Guys and loved it! we are obsessed... but are going to limit ourselves starting now. (or after Friday night... when we are going again!)
♥ I still have scars in my mouth from braces! So painful. But I'm so grateful that I had them. Defintaley worth it in the end!!! :)
Looks to me like you have mastered it already!
When my step-mother got her braces she spit on us a lot until she relearned how to talk and laugh. lol! She did say it was painful, so I don't envy you. I'm glad I never needed them. Once they're off it'll have been worth it. My step-monster's teeth look great now.
The mountains are gorgeous in the photo...as are you three!
never had braces - but I am proud of your courage to get them. I'm sure it will be worth the aggravation now - I also think you look great - no dork in sight.
Ah I can remember being in a lot of pain.., and I think pain as an adult with so much to do and so many to take care of may be harder. Hang in there, it will all be worth it!
Try to think of how wonderful your teeth will look when its over when you feel the pain. I had them for 4 years and am so glad I did.
Oh, I remember the pain! OUCH! But I am so thankful to have straight teeth. I would totally do it again now if I had to.
You look great even with braces. You are going to be so happy when it is all over. Hang in there. I had to suffer for two years so I know your pain. It was the best thing I ever did though for my self confidence.
I had braces for 4, almost 5 years. Totally know that irritating pain and awkwardness of having to brush your teeth all the time and carrying a mirror, just to make sure nothing else was there.
It will be worth it. Yes, smiling is awkward at first, but you will figure it out. HANG IN THERE!
You definitley DON'T look like a dork, and tou're right, it does take some getting used to. Gor the soreness, believe it or not, I liked to chew sugarless gum, it's like working out with sore muscles...don't tell your ortho I told you to do it though!!
