The story goes that when Alan was young all he wanted was a dirt bike. One Christmas morning he woke up to his first dirt bike (he was young) he was so happy all he could do was cry. From the moment I married Alan I knew that he was going to have a dirt bike. I wasn't into that sort of thing but I knew it was just a matter of time. He has had one for a while. Then I had my first boy. I, again, knew that it was just a matter of time till he also had a dirt bike. I tried to avoid it. I have tried to delay it. The time came anyway...
Last Saturday I went along as he rode it (for the second time). As you can see the land was flat and nothing was out there at all. Jacob was in little boy heaven. Thank goodness I have three girls because this is hard (they came along to observe too).

Yipes. NOT FOR ME.
I can see how happy your kid is.
And...TK has been asking for a small motorbike....
NO!
OMGosh!! Dirt bikes are so.much.fun! I have always harbored a secret desire for Husband or Jack or Travis to have an interest, but they don't. Yet....
Wow, look at your daring duo! You are an amazing mom!
I LOVE THIS POST- I grew up the same way!! We had dirt bikes, min bikes, 3 wheelers, snow mobiles, 4 wheelers - fantatic - I want to get my son a 3 or 4 wheeler - my hubbie freaked OUT!
I love that second picture. Just so endearing.
In the meantime, I am praying for only GIRLS!!! ")
I am surprised Lindsey does not want to join in the fun. I love the pictures of Jacob and his dad. What a fun thing to do together. I think I would be a little worried too though.
I just love that picture of Alan and Jacob. And the one of the big bike and the little bike. But I can't imagine watching my little boy out there!! Good for you ;-)
I'll bet your husband was in little boy heaven too. It's a dad thing.
My BIL and nephew are a dirt biking pair like Alan and Jacob. It's actually great father/son time. :) Still kind of scary for mom though! :)
What great daddy/son time and you can get some time with the girls, that's great. Love the pictures.
I am having a give-a-way, and I think you should come enter!
Enjoy your weekend Laura.
We just got into the whole motorcycle scene, (we borrowed our friends sons motorcycle for 2 weeks) the boys are in love with the 2 wheel wonder. Now my husband has informed me that we HAVE to get the boys a motorcycle. Ahh boys and their toys.
I guess we always knew it was in our fate to have little boys and dirt bikes. So fun! I am glad we went. I am also glad we had no trips to the E.R that day.
Those are great pictures Laura! I bet they had an absolute blast!
Now THAT is some awesome male bonding time!!!
LOVE the shots Laura! Every one of them is fantastic!
Love the big bike little bike picture and your girls of course are gorgeous!
I'm scared of dirt bikes, but I have to admit BOTH of your guys look pretty cool on one!
I love the pic of your two boys riding along. So cute.
My hubby is a dirt bike rider too. Since we have only girls, I think they might have to take on his hobby too. Are your girls curious about them?
Oh SCARY! That is like my dh and son with BB guns.
I hear ya. My husband has a Yamaha something in the garage...part dirt bike, part road, I don't know. He also has a Honda street bike that he bought last year. I never knew he liked bikes and I don't like them at all! I hate when he rides them, and especially hate it when he THINKS I'm getting on with him! No thanks...not my cup of tea! I dread the day my kids want to drive their own!
Ya gotta love the dirt! Great photos and story!
Oh my gosh, that looks like so much fun!
