I kicked off the weekend with the girls heading out for a midnight madness sale at the outlet mall. We left about 11:30 and as we were driving up the mountain pass we noticed a lot of cars, surely all of them were coming home from festivities not going out our sale. No one else was as crazy as we were... WRONG! When we got of the exit it was like a parking lot so what did we do... we turned around and went the back way. It was freezing, it was late and it was a total blast. We had so much fun. No deadlines, sales, and lots of laughing. I think when you shop that late you get a little silly. In one store we were laughing to hard we were crying (it was about 3am) and I think the sales clerks were a little annoyed. We some good deals (no one went nuts) and we had a great time. We did not arrive home till 6am (nuts huh). I have not stayed up that late in many many years. So much fun! There were more than a few people there who brought children! Can you imagine how bad it was to see small children bawling at 2am. What kind of parent does that? That seriously bothered me.I recovered most of Friday while Alan set up the outdoor lights. Later that evening we went and saw Enchanted. We took all the kids for the first time and it went great. The movie was WONDERFUL! The twins never moved from their seats or made a peep and it felt so good to do something as a family. After the movie ended the twins danced in front of the credits. They just loved the princess movie in every way! I loved it too!

Saturday we went and saw Santa. The whole way there the twins seemed excited and vowed to be "nice" and not cry. The minute we arrived Santa came out saying "Ho Ho Ho" and being kind and nice. The twins started screaming and begging for me to hold them. Needless to say they were not very friendly. Hailey got enough composure to refrain from outright screaming, afterall she was sitting on Lindsey's lap. Sydney on the other hand was furious the ENTIRE time. After the whole ordeal and we got to the car and began to drive away. Sydney said. "I love Santa". What? I guess she will love him from afar. I took a ton of pictures to share later... but here is one for now.
We had a great weekend! Oh and when I asked Jacob if liked Thanksgiving he said' Sure it was my first one I ever had". It made me laugh that he doesn't remember the holiday and everything is new again. Totally funny.

Sounds like you had a great weekend. I really want to see that movie. Hey, I took your recommendation on that Dan in Real Life and loved it!
I went shopping early Friday and got all my kids Christmas done! YEA! We decorated the inside of the house tonight - so hopefully that outside will get done next weekend!
My kids feel the same way about Santa - they think they like him until I take them to see him...then they run!
How fun! I can't believe people would bring their kids out shopping at 3am. That's nuts. If nothing else, it would make shopping unpleasant (to say the least!), so why bring them!?? It would bother me, too. SOunds like you had a great time though! As soon as my kids get a little older and I can leave them at home sleeping with hubby I want to do some midnight madness shopping, too! It sounds so fun!
Sounds like a great weekend Laura! I was just commenting to a friend today that I can't wait until the girls are old enough to go to the movies...I have heard good things about Enchanted from others as well. I'll have to add it to my Netflix list! I'm envious of your midnight shopping trip...I'm too much of a wimp to go out to the Black Friday sales..can't risk the lack of sleep:O
Thought I'd start on your blog....:) Shopping all night? I thought it was called black friday because stores opened at 4 am, not stayed open all night! I really envy the time you had though. It sounds fun and like a great memory. The picture of the kids and santa is awesome. It catches their expressions perfectly.
