Yellow car...

Finding yellow cars when we are out and about is a game the was started with the Grandparents. Until recently Lindsey was the champ and Jacob close behind. Until Hailey became interested in the whole game it's become an obsession with Hailey. It never ceases to amaze me where/how she finds them far away, tucked into a driveway, behind other cars. She must spend every moment in her car seat alert and searching for those yellow cars. She beats everyone! She has to get them, they must be hers! The twins world is all about colors. There is no such thing as just a dress its a pink dress, everything they interact with has a color and they love to point it out. They are so amazing to me! The world is full of colors, many I have forgotten to notice until lately.

What will we do when we don't have our children to reminds us of the world thru the eyes of a child?

We play a similar game but we look for volkswagons (Beetles). At Christmas time we look for Christmas Trees on or in peoples cars. Amazing how much fun you can have w/your family w/such a simple game!

What a wonderful reminder about how blessed we are to live in a world of color.....I recently read a fictional story about a utopian society where all color was bred out of everything, (along with a lot of other things) and it really made me think about this. Now if I could only remember the title! I bet it's fun to be in the car in search of color!

I was just noticing today how the kids were saying "mama, red car" or blue car, etc. etc. instead of just pointing out cars. It is so rewarding when they actually start to catch on to all of those little things we work so hard on teaching them:)

OMG!
Priya learned her colors about a year ago...around when she turned two and everything became about color! I wish my experience could have been more positive. Everything we did became a negotioation of color. I don't want the blue cup I want the red cup...I don't want the red lid I want the green lid. I don't want to wear the pink dress I want to wear the red dress everything from toys to shoes became about color and no matter what I did I allways seemed to pick the wrong color thing! Ahhhh things of calmed down by now but it use to drive me crazy. Maybe I should slow down and enjoy watching her grow and learn.
