Random musings...

At the mall the other day the girls saw a sign about the Easter bunny. Hailey expressed interest in meeting him. Sydney, however, promised to go running. She was not interested at all. That wasn't fair so I trotted Hailey over. Sydney hid behind me. Hailey asked me if it was a real Easter bunny or just a guy dressed up. Not being sure at first how to respond to that I admitted he was just dressed up (the sales girl at Gap looked at me funny but what would you do). So we arrive. Hailey gets tense. She tells me... "Mom it IS the real Easter bunny". That was it, she was NOT interested at all either. She went running to Sydney who knew all along how she felt about meeting Easter bunnies or anyone she doesn't know for that matter. Seeing his creepy smile I guess I don't blame them.

On Friday I purchased the Paas kit. The one everyone gets. No gimmicks just good old tablets and the white crayon (gotta have that). I set all the groceries down and literally seconds later found the kit torn in a million pieces. I frantically ran to discover the girls upstairs in their room. EATING the tablets. Cool colors running from their mouths, to their outfits, to the carpet. Yahoo. Oh and apparently Paas makes Edible color tablets (they are a food item) so they girls will survive for another day of bright ideas. We had to use food coloring and vinegar to dye eggs (which works just as well of course).

Today Sydney asked me if we get to fly to heaven when we die. I was busy and responded with I think so... but I don't know. She was curious then... "if we can't fly how will we walk so far"?

Jacob and Hailey are playing a game in the kitchen. It's all creative and fun. You know not electronic. I ask Hailey why she hasn't gotten in her jammies and she responds to Jacob, " can we pause the game". He says sure.... Pause? I think she knows all about Tivo and its wonderful features. I often wish I could rewind and pause real life too or even fast forward.

Photo story Friday- Cabo San Lucas

You thought I was done torturing you with my cruise photos but I saved the best for last. Our last day of port was in Cabo San Lucas.

After our day in Mazatlan I was content with staying on the boat and relaxing by the pool. But somehow the temptation to get off and see what was out there won out. I hiked all the kids up to the kids club because handling them all alone in Mexico wasn't something I was prepared to do.( Alan woke up at 6am so he could be the first to get off the boat and get some jet skiing in). It seemed tedious to get off the boat because Cabo requires a ride on a tender boat to shore so I started to question my getting off the boat as had only an hour or so. We went anyway. After our boat ride (which was stunning). We began walking around and found someone to take us on this scenic boat ride. For like $10 a person. It was wonderful. The water was clear and blue and the views really were great.

My Dad with my sister Diana.

I don't have my mom in many pictures. She is SO wonderful. So lucky to have all these girls.
My Mom and Dad headed back to the ship to get my kids while my sisters and I did some shopping. We all ended up getting some beautiful jewelry for great prices. I only wish I had bought more than one necklace now.

Moral of the story- don't miss Cabo it's amazing!

BE safe.....

I don't want my blog private (I have a hard time visiting private blogs as regularly as I would like because you cannot use a reader to help) but its been eating at me for a while that my pictures aren't secure.

Recently a friend online helped me get a few things updated on my blog and I wanted to share what she shared with me. It might help you to...

This will make a window pop up when someone tries to click on your pictures to capture them (try to right click on a picture on my blog and tell me if it works)

Wordful Wednesday- A confession...

I am in love with my cell phone. I love texting, receiving texts is even better.

But who doesn't love that?

That's not my confession though ... what I am confessing is really more humiliating. What I love most is picture mail. Not because I take important pictures because I don't. I mean I don't with my camera phone that is.

When I am out alone and need an opinion I can take pictures of myself in the said items and send them out for opinions. I admit to being in fitting rooms and other mirrors doing just this. I even crashed my whole cell phone doing this. They actually had to redownload the software at verizon (not enough memory for my antics apparently). So inspired by that fiasco, I bought a memory card for my phone. Because this new technology and me we're here to stay. Thank you to my girlfriends who dutifully sit by their cell phones and respond. Oh and they send me picture mail too, for opinions, on their sunglasses, jeans, and other important purchases. It's almost like being with people when your shopping, never alone.

I needed to exchange my sunglasses...
The above sunglasses were left behind...
I did exchange my glasses for these ones...

I also like to use picture mail to send funny texts like this on... because the girls in granny glasses seemed funny at the time.
Then you might recognize this one (its been posted before)... I don't own a pair of crocs and needed to show an example of them on. I happened to see these at the rack. Yep that's me in my jeans and green crocs! I have tried them on and felt the comfort (must have to walk in them to feel it though and they were tied together). I sent that picture text out to my sisters too. They were shocked.

I sent this one to get a laugh out of my sister in law. I knew she would be missing this view at the gym. I think I must have been delirous from too much gym time. Although those walls and those views are something I spend a lot of time staring at.

Add Image
Oh and thus far I have resisted adding email to my phone. I spend way too much time checking my email as it is. I just don't trust myself.

Today..........

I got a call from the school on my way to the orthodontist because Jacob looked like this

So I dosed him up on benedryl and had to take three kids to the orthodontist. Fun.

Then we stopped at The Rack (to make a return I promise).
and were all rewarded with Five guys and a burger. If you haven't tried it you really should. Just don't blame me when you gain five pounds because if you have one you will have another, I promise.

We came home to finally have our ceiling repaired. It looked cool like this because

Then Jacobs eyes began to get red and itchy again. Mystery still unsolved on this one. Never had hay fever before, we didn't change laundry soap or any other thing. He didn't eat anything new either. Go figure.

Coming out of the closet....

A confession...
I am scared to share it.
I don't like crocs. I don't like crocs with fur. Crocs without fur. Crocs with socks. Crocs without socks. Crocks that are bright or crocs that are not.
I don't understand the love of crocs.

The other day I saw a crocs outlet store. What would possibly make that needed? I see croc keyosks at the mall. Would you believe they sell croc butter (to keep the plastic soft or something). Jewels for crocs. They even make generic crocs at places like Walmart and Payless.

I feel like I am a fairly normal person. I like most fads. I own more than my fair share of cute jeans. I love purses. Fun sunglasses. I just don't get this fad. They are expensive so its not like they are a budget thing.

I hear they are comfortable but so are flip flops and they are cute. I get why Nurses wear them cuz lets face it scrubs aren't so fashionable either. It's like work attire. But what is going on with everyone else?

So all you croc lovers out there. I know there are many. Tell me what is so great? Why all the fuss? Don't be shy. I know I am in the minority here on this.

Oh and I heard about a way to put you money to good use the other day... Donate crocs for kids in iraq.

Spring Break...........

Last week began spring break...

We had a lot of fun (and Mom got nothing else done)....

We went to Jungle Jim's which is a indoor kiddie amusement park.

On Friday we took all the little girls to see Hannah Montana the movie. They all loved it!

The only bad thing was that after we got home we found out that Miley had made a surprise appearance at the theater 20 minutes away at the same time we were seeing the movie. How sad is that? By the way the music was great.

After the weekend... we went to the Children's Discovery museum. It was a busy and fun spring break.

Today I am just playing catch up. It's week like this I wonder how my house/me will survive summer recess.

Glitter toes.......

I haven't done a lot of pedicures in my life but we were celebrating two very important birthdays and wanted to do something different. So we tried out Glitter Toes. Totally different. Totally fun. Glitter toes are applied with Gel so they last longer and look better (in my opinion).

If you live in the area and have to have them too (email me)... My cousin is wonderful!

A lesson in shopping...

A new Nordstrom Rack opened just down the street. Dangerous I tell you! Grandpa came along and gave the little girls a lesson in shopping.

The girls each ended up with a new dress and new pink shoes! It was a great day!
