Hello dear friends,
Sorry I have been MIA. I have had a ton going on. Spring sports have me completely overwhelmed. Most days we have two things going on and often at the very same time. There is cub scouts, Swimming, Diving, three kids in soccer...
This week has been especially brutal. Jacob is being baptized on Saturday (for our church). Which really is a celebration though somehow my desire to make it special has made it very stressful.
Lindsey is in a drama class and her final play is being performed on the same day. She is also celebrating her 11th birthday this week. Whew!
The twins had a performance for preschool today which was absolutely adorable but ill fated. They got white paint all over their orange shirts for the costumes like an hour before the performance. I threw them (though not literally) in the bath to remove the aforementioned paint. Somehow they took an entire bar of Dove soap and dissolved it in the bath and most especially their hair. This stripped their hair of all natural oil and made it one million and ten tangles. Nothing would make it untangle (except maybe another bath and an hour of conditioner which I could not do). So we brushed what we could (while all three of us cried) and headed out sporting pony tails that hid about a half a million of the tangles. We were almost late, our shirts were damp and my nerves were long gone! DO NOT DO THIS AT HOME! Who knew bar soap was so terrible.
Sometimes when I look back at the big moments I remember all the things that went wrong and the stress we experienced to get there and not only is it funny but it was totally worth it. Behind all the perfect pictures was often a terrible day. Filled with things going wrong and many going right. The journey of life is rarely a smooth one.
So that's where I have been. I have tons of pictures and posts almost ready but haven't had the time to do them justice.

Oh man. I feel your pain with the soap. We had a similar experience a couple of weeks ago with some bath foam from the Easter bunny. An entire can of the stuff went in the girls hair. It took about 4 days and countless washings to get the hair back to normal. Ugh. I hope Jacob's baptism goes well. Let's get together when life calms down.
why is it that the older our children get - the busier we are???
Wow, just one bar of dove soap? I will take this as a warning! Thanks! And you are right, life's journey is rarely smooth...but I think the things that go wrong help us appreciate the things that go right! :)
♥ Man you are busy! I go crazy when we have a semi busy week and my business is nothing compared to all your activities! I don't know how you do it!!! I'm glad it worked out in the end though! :)
You know, your posts always seem to come at the time I need them. Just to know that other moms are in the same position. We want everything perfect and happy and it takes A LOT of work to get that.
I hope that Jacob's baptism was special today. I am sure you made him feel cherished like a good mom should. :)
Your post is so very true. Life's journey is rarely smooth. Thankfully we have the pictures to remind of us of all the good and bad parts of our daily adventures.
I can't believe that happend. Little rascals! Just remember how much you love them..even tho it's hard not to kill them for doing naughty things. You will look at this a have a happy memory of it...some day=)
Can't believe the twins managed to get into another major mess...who would have thought that soap would have caused so much hair trouble! Life is definitely hectic thest days, but you always have such great perspective and try to remember not to sweat the small stuff.
