My days are busy and sometimes I just can't wait for nap time. For a little moment of quiet. With three little ones going going going all morning it gets hard. *If things go as planned the twins go down for a nap about an hour before school is out. I get one hour alone. On good days I give myself small gifts. I eat my lunch alone, at the table in silence and peace. No one asking for a drink every second or needing my help. No potty trips or crying. I also drink one can of Diet coke. Recently I bought limes so I could add that flavor I love in restaurants. Sometimes I even sit down and watch a show on tivo. I try to force myself not to use it to catch up my cleaning, laundry, or phone calls. No matter what I do that time is golden and very needed! It's only an hour. What do you do for yourself? I can't be the only Mom who needs alone time. I am big believer that we all need to recharge our batteries, we all need to refill our tanks. Sure we could spent every moment cleaning or working, but we would not be the creative happy people we want to be. I could not be the patient mother I hope to be. I also have a girls night out once a week, and Alan usually gets his guy time out too. With so much going on its hard to find the time, but its very needed. It helps us deal with all the craziness if we know we will get a break (at some point). I think too many of us try to do it all and be it all for everyone else. If you are not taking care of yourself, its hard to be that person for everyone else. If you don't find a way to do this, I challenge you to do this. Stay tuned for todays disaster... next post!
Side note: If you wonder why I do not just buy Diet coke w/lime... I do not like Diet Coke w/lime at all, it makes me sick (literally). It tasted artificial and strong. Some things just taste better in their natural form.

I agree whole heartedly with you. I actually don't have much "my" time. I always have other kids (Garrett, and then the girls get home from school) around when the twins are napping, but I always find time to steal for reading, blogging, "moderating" (haha) and just surfing the net.
i too agree with you laura. i do not get a whole lot of "me" time either since my hubby works two full time jobs, but i do try to make time for myself when the kids go to grammy's on the weekends! anyway, i hope you have a great week! the cards look great by the way!
The ever-coveted me-time! Sometimes I try to take a quick nap when the girls are asleep or blog surf or read. At night I sometimes try to watch a DVD, but it always takes me a few nights to get through one! My favorite this is shopping-usually for the girls, but I could very quickly have us living in the poor house so I have to reign myself in on that one. But eating in peace really is one of the nicest luxuries...most of the time I eat standing up because the girls climb all over me!
Funny about the diet coke...I was SO craving a diet coke tonight and we were out...My hubby was working or else I would have sent him to the store:( So bummed.
I don't get much me time either. Since i've been working all my "free" time is spent working. (bummer!) Every once in a while I'll veg out on the couch with a magazine or something and its wonderful! I don't drink soda...gives me a headache. But i love Frappaccino! LOL!
I take me time during naps as well. I love to sit and watch Oprah and eat my lunch in peace. I usually only need 45min-1hour and then I am up and running around again but that short amount of me times make a world of difference! Good for you for taking such good care of yourself. And I have to say that nothing soothes the soul like girls' night out!
Ooooh...my "Erin time" is as important to me as anything else. Without it, I make Mr. Hyde look like a kitten.
I often watch TV, surf the interent or, *gasp* -- read a book and fall asleep doing so. What an indulgence!
